Financial support
Holiday care & long-term care insurance
Holiday care in Tenerife does not always have to be financed entirely from your own funds. Under certain conditions, benefits from the German long-term care insurance system may also be relevant during a stay in another EU country. Which options are available depends on your individual care situation and your entitlement to benefits.
Verhinderungspflege
3.539 € / year
For people with a recognised care grade of 2 or higher, a combined annual budget of up to €3,539 may be available under the relevant conditions for Verhinderungspflege and short-term care. This budget may also be used to help cover the costs of suitable replacement care if the usual private caregiver is temporarily unable to provide care.
Care allowance
347–990 € per Month
People with a recognised care grade of 2 to 5 may receive monthly Pflegegeld if home care is arranged privately and the relevant requirements are met. In principle, entitlement may also continue during a temporary stay in Spain. However, Pflegegeld does not constitute direct reimbursement of our invoices.

What does this mean for your stay?
Under certain conditions, Verhinderungspflege may also be claimed during a stay in Tenerife. One of the key requirements is that the person who usually provides private care is temporarily unable to do so and that the relevant entitlement to benefits is in place.
During Verhinderungspflege, previously received Pflegegeld may generally continue to be paid at half the previous amount for up to eight weeks per calendar year. The exact entitlement depends on the individual care situation.
We recommend contacting your long-term care insurance provider before travelling and clarifying the requirements and any possible reimbursement of costs in writing. We cannot guarantee reimbursement.

Are you planning a stay in Tenerife and looking for nursing support? Here you will find answers to the most important questions about organisation, planning and care during your stay.
Is holiday care also available without a recognised care grade?
Yes. Our nursing services can be used privately regardless of whether you have a recognised care grade. What matters is your individual need for support.
Which nursing services can be provided during my stay?
The care provided is based on your individual health situation. Possible examples include support with personal care, mobility, nursing health support and appropriate treatment-related nursing measures within the applicable legal framework. The exact scope of services is agreed individually in advance.
How early should I contact you about my support needs?
We recommend contacting us as early as possible. This allows us to get to know your needs, plan the required care and coordinate available visit times in good time.
Can I choose the frequency and duration of visits individually?
Yes. Our holiday care packages include three, five or seven visits per week. Depending on your needs, visits of 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes can be arranged. Additional visits or extensions are possible by prior agreement and subject to availability.
Do I need to have booked accommodation in Tenerife already?
No. You can contact us before booking your accommodation. For binding care planning, we will later need the exact address of your accommodation so that we can check whether care can be provided within our service area.
Can my German long-term care insurance help cover the costs?
Under certain conditions, benefits from the German long-term care insurance system may also be relevant during a temporary stay in Tenerife. This may include Verhinderungspflege if the legal requirements are met. Please clarify any possible entitlement to reimbursement with your responsible long-term care insurance provider before travelling. We cannot guarantee reimbursement.
Can family caregivers also be relieved during the stay?
Yes. Our agreed nursing visits can provide targeted relief for family caregivers and create more space for rest and shared time together. However, we do not provide continuous supervision, permanent attendance or 24-hour care.
Is short-notice support also available?
Short-notice enquiries may be considered depending on available capacity. Whether care can be provided depends, among other things, on the required scope of services, the location and available visit times.
Is care also available for chronic or neurological conditions?
Yes, in principle, people with chronic illnesses or neurological conditions can also receive nursing support. The health situation must be sufficiently stable and the individual care needs must fall within the scope of our services. We assess suitability in advance during a personal consultation.
